Loving child care is available in the lower level for children 4 and under. Children in kindergarten to 3rd grade are excused after the children’s sermon to go downstairs for Sunday school. What’s Happening Today we welcome Pastor Jeremiah Ketchum and Kermit Hainley from Eagle Village. They are sharing God’s Word with us this morning. Rev. Andy is on vacation through Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Chancel flowers are placed by the Berry Family, in loving memory of husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Art Berry. Parents: If you would like your graduate to be recognized on Sunday, June 2, Graduation Sunday, please sign their name, the name of the school they are graduating from on the sign-up sheet posted in the Fellowship Hall. Wedding Coordinator. We are looking for a person who would be willing to serve as our church wedding coordinator. This is a volunteer position in which you are paid through the wedding party. You would work closely with the pastor. Training is available. If this is something that interests you, please contact the church office 264-8167 or email info@erfpc.org Membership Discovery Class. If you have an interest in knowing more about our First Presbyterian Church family, you are invited to explore church membership with Rev. Andy. A single class will be offered on Saturday, June 8, 3 to 6 p.m. Then, on Wednesday evening, June 26, those who wish to become members after taking the class will meet with Session at 7 p.m. New members will be presented to the congregation on Sunday, June 30 at the 9:30 a.m. service. Pre-registration is required because there is advance reading to be completed in preparation for the class. Interested? These are the supplies that we need for VBS. The theme for this year is Kingdom Rocks! So we are looking for anything castle-like for decorations. Our VBS time is fast approaching, and we are excited! Stephen Ministry. Are you or do you know someone who is facing challenges in life? A Stephens Minister is ready to be that person who might be of help as a confidential, active listener and a compassionate caregiver. Anyone who wants the services of a Stephen Minister doesn’t have to be a member of the church. Anyone can call for a Stephen Minister or refer a friend or relative. If you like to garden, we are looking for a person who would be interested in watering the plants around the church and pulling the weeds from the stone areas. Thanks to all who participated in the youth musical “Lifesong” last Sunday. The singers who participated did an outstanding musical presentation. The musicians truly enhanced the quality of the sound and a big thank you to Pete Vandenberg for setting up and manning the sound board. I think the content and musical portions were heard clearly. We need housing for 65 mostly teenage young people who have a tremendous dedication to their choral youth ministry. Please call if you can help to house these young people. Bloomington, Illinois Youth Chancel Choir concert to be presented on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at 7 p.m., in our sanctuary. This was the home church of two of our dearest members―Stan and Betty Holzhauer. Please plan to enjoy the beautiful music and fellowship with your friends and neighbors.
